i have 3 clay chimney pots wot is best to restore these to origanal finish or just clean them up
I personally wouldn't do anything to them - unless someone has ruined them by painting them. They look lovely if just allowed to age and weather naturally.
A good patination can take decades to build up, but can be destroyed in minutes.
I'm with ladybird, I'd leave it
Big fan of chimney pots as planters - still got the soot in mine! I usually lower a smaller pot inside them so I can move them if required.
thanks for response might leave them as they are we paid £40 each for them so dont wont to spoil them
You could paint them with yoghurt to encourage lichens and mosses to grow on them
