How lovely. Mine is almost there - still a bit green-looking.

Thank You, Ladybird, we love them on a frosty morning shining in morning sun.

I'm hoping to have buzzing bees before the frosts arrive image

  • Is that eryngium, cornelly? I would have guessed echinops but I could be wrongimage

Lovely colour though. I nearly got rid of mine last year, glad I didn't...never noticed the bees on them before this yearimage

Now I'm confused (not difficult I know!) so have I got an Echinops or an Eryngium. Label went walkabout some months ago. I'll get a pic.

  • Ah, that's sorted thenimage

On the plus side, it reminded me to water an eryngium I moved recently, which now looks rather sadimage

I grew a bunch of echinops from seed the other year, they are huge and all in the wrong place, pathways, growing through my bench etc. Going to move them all to the back of the sunny border this Autumn...
