Shrub w/ yellow sweet pea like flowers
There is a plant/small shrub that I see around my neighbourhood with yellow, sweet pea-like flowers, that smell like sweet peas and almost stronger, on long, green, thin, bare stems. It's just about coming to the end of its blooming period. Can anyone help me with a name. (I don't have a photo--never have my phone with me cause I don't get service anyway).

Did it look like this?
This is broom.
The flowers look like that but stems longer and no leaves. Also I thought broom bloomed earlier and I never noticed a strong scent. (Although I could be wrong on all counts. I did think broom when I first saw it.) The ones I see ... and in a few different houses, there are no leaves at all on the stems, just flowers, and I've never seen more than one or 2 flowers per long stem (that may be just the one I'm seeing) and I can smell it from 10 feet away...lovely.
Is it broom? Is it related to broom? Is broom really sweetly scented? Doesn't broom bloom in May and June? (practically a poem.)
Have a look at Spartium junceum, Spanish Broom. That flowers later
In the sticks near Peterborough
What about pineapple broom - does it flower later?
Have never grown it but I'm sure there's plenty of people know it well
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
That must be it. Thanks!!
Spanish, not pineapple.
