Collected various seeds in Madeira two years ago. This is the first plant to flower but looks horribly like my neighbours Buddleia.  ????

But it's a Madeira Buddleia - it just looks like an English Buddleia image

Well at least the butterflies will be happy. This is also from seed collected in Madeira but I had no clue what it was until I saw an item on Echiums today. I would be delighted if it was as they are everywhere on the island and a great reminder of happy hols there. Apparently they take 3-4 years to flower from seed so I may have to be patient. No sign of anything similar next door!

It could be a different species but looks much as Buddleia davidii to me. It's not native to the UK although it's gone wild here. Not native to Madeira either, China I think
