Forgotten bulb/tuber - what could it be?

Just found this in my tray of dried bulbs - can you see it properly? Could it be a dahlia I forgot to plant? Leaves are tiny. Has it shrunk? Shape of bulb doesn't look like a dahlia as it's not pointy but  I have no other ideas...

     Could be dahlia, it's not a bulb so that cuts out all that lot

    Looks like a Dahlia to me too. The leaves are only tiny because it hasn't been planted and looked after. Not all Dahlia tubers are pointed either - some look just like yours.

    Could it be a potato tuber, all shrivelled but chitted and trying to grow?

    Oh. If it's a potato I don't want it! I I think this may have been in a pot. It's my mum who was sorting them all out so I'll see if she can remember where it was.
