My ornamental cherry tree blossomed well but then failed to produce any leaves.  Is it dead please?

I fear it is. Plants need leaves to survive.

Is there anything I can do to revive it?  What would have caused it to die?

I don't think you can revive it. How old is it? Is the trunk damaged at all? Did it leaf up and stay nice and green last year?

Don't know how old it is as it was here when we moved in 4 years ago, but it is pretty big.  It has always blossomed and leafed up well since we have lived here and there is no damage that I can see.

They're not long-lived trees but that does seem a rather sudden end. Maybe someone else will have some suggestions re cause

Something that is as sudden and drastic as that usually indicates a major problem with the roots. Last winter was very wet, could the roots have been waterlogged?
