I brought some wild grass seed back from Tenerife and have been growing it for a couple of years now.  It forms a dense and solid mat, which starts off flat and then becomes more raised. Some of the leaves are red. The stalks are a glaucus blue and the flower heads are very like Stipa Gigantea.  Could this be some type of Stipa?

I'm not that hot on grasses, but that looks remarkably like what my farming father would call Wild Oats (Avena fatua)  - a real problem weed for farmers.
