Bamboo

well I thoughtI would put this post up.

in my new garden I have a rather large bush bamboo and it looks quite plain so I have decided to create a new look by legging up the canes its going to take me quite a lot of time because I am only doing little bits when I can hopefully it will look quite different when I have finished and I shall post my before and after photos.

anyone else ever done this and if so how did you get on cheers Lester.

    I think I know what you are getting atimage and think I've done one of mine like it, finished it round the bottom with white(ish) pebbles, we like it.image

    I've just removed everything except the newest cans from a large patch. The leaves are just opening now. I like it. It had become very thick and now is see through.

    it looks a lot better when you thin it out doesn't it. There was a lot of dead stuff in the middle if ours which was spoiling the look.

    Thought I was the only one who loves bamboo, on here!  Got mine in pots on a little Japanese bit.

    morning what I am trying to achieve is to leave all the canes but to strip away all the foliage below a level of say 4 feet from the ground.

    I might top out the canes at a certain height we shall see

    there fore I can enjoy both the leaves and foliage as well as the different coloured canes and of course I also get to see any one coming through the openness of the bush I have now created lol!
