Agapanthus

pokhimpokhim Posts: 210

I've got 6 2L agapanthus that I need to put out. Does agapanthus only produce 1 flower head or multiple?...

Shall I put them in a 2 clusters of 3 in 2 locations of my garden?

    .

Depends where you live, broad leaved ones are more tender than slim leaved ones, they do not like cold wet winters in clay soil even with loads of sand added, so I grow mine in tubs!

Once they get established they do expand quickly for me and I soon get multiple flower heads, though they are the devil to get out off the tubs to divide, I just chop them through with a sharp spade and tub them up again!

Blooms GC have lots in tubs with multiple flower heads at the moment, ONLY £89.99  per tub and they are not even very pretty flowers at that!

    Anyway good luck!

I understood they flower best when the plants are very crowded together as In a pot. Mine are usually very vigorous with lots of flowers.
