Phlox

good afternoon

I have some Phlix which I think should be dead headed. Is this ok?

In the past I have never done any dead heading, but maybe I should

thanks in advance

Sometimes if you dead head phlox just below the flower head, it gives some later blooms. I assume you are talking about perennial phlox paniculata, not the annual sort used  as bedding plants. Water well and a feed of flower fertiliser such as phostrogen or comfrey feed or tomorite will help.

Thanks  for your reply,Mine don't self seed, also White Phlix never regrows in my garden? Due to heavy clay soil .

My phlox have never seeded, they tend to spread slightly by underground runners, the clump getting larger each year.
