Stachys, a lovely plant common name Lambs Tail, the bees do love it, we have a few dotted around the garden.

Thanks all. Will it grow from a root cutting? I know the person whose house its growing at so will ask nicely if I can take a piece of it.

Stachys byzantina, as Dave says, but sometimes called Stachys lanata. Lamb's Ears.
