Roses changing colour

I have a rose bush in my back garden, (although I forget the exact variety) which has always been pure white - we always referred to them as 'Maddy's roses' as my daughter was mad about Alice in Wonderland as a child and there are white roses in the book.  But today I go out and the beautiful roses have a definite pink blush about them?  Incidentally my pure white hydrangea serrata also has now got a definite pinky blush, but as I have an alkaline soil I wasn't as surprised by this, although this is the first year it has been so pronounced.  Any ideas anyone?

I find that the colour of my roses depends on how much or how little they are fed.

My palest of pale pink rose is definitely deeper this year (I thought I was imagining it till now) but I put it down to lack of sun. We've had virtually none in a month.

Interesting.  Ok thanks, It's obviously a trend!  I'll see what happens next year.
