Potatoes for Christmas

I was thinking of growing potatoes so that they're ready in time for Christmas. Any advice on this? they will be grown either in raised beds or in pots. Best variety or varieties? When to plant? Any help welcomed

Make sure that you buy treated potatoes (those that have been in cold store for a while) from specialist sellers. Nicola and Charlotte are good ones. Grow in potato bags or small dustbins if you don't have room in the garden.
