Dave if you take basal cuttings, will they flower in the same year or do they need a year's growth first? Mine are a fright and I'm trying to decide what to do with them.
Thanks for the help. I'm a very novice gardener ,don't know how to take cutting. Its got to big where it is ,so I'll lift it and try splitting it . nothing to loose
Plant pauper,, they will flower in the first year, although subsequent years are better. As for cuttings there's a video by Carol Kliene on taking them on this site, they're pretty simple to take.

I don't personally, I take basal cuttings in spring which works for me.

I could live with a quarter. The two that I have my eye on are beasts! Would I plant them up in mpc or JI or a mixture?

Found it remarkably easily Dave. I'd no idea there was stuff like that on here. It seemed to be all adverts.
Thanks both. I'll have to gird my loins and attack these monsters and at least tidy them up. They're in my view from the kitchen!
