Bit of a silly question.. but when ppl say 'plant 30cm apart'. Do they mean 30cm from the center of each plant or 30cm from the edge of each plant?..

thanks

  • Ah, but, the centre of each hole or the edge?

Not a silly question at all pokhim   image

As with measurements of most kind, you measure middle to middle. The holes would be 30cm from the centre of one plant to the next.

Always worth checking the ultimate size of the plant though, as these measurements are only a guide.

Question not silly, but spelling a bit confusing!

What you're looking at I think is to have the plants far enough apart so they don't touch, allowing airflow and can't scrape against each other or pass each other diseases.  What should be quoted on the pack / websites / pot, is just slightly further apart than the mature plant will get to, so as Patsy & Fairygirl say, each hole 30cm apart - they'll grow out 15cm around, just miss each other and be very happy together!
