Websites and books on woodland garden design??
Hi
This garden design lark is harder than I thought!
Does anyone know of any good books or websites that are helpful for designing a woodland garden? My idea is to have a naturalistic woodland setting in my small plot of land but most of the searches I have found on the internet have been for large gardens or making existing woodland into a garden setting. I've been out into our local woodland and taken loads of pictures what has helped some, but am still struggling to transfer them ideas into a plausible garden design.
Any info would be most grateful...
Many thanks
Sven

you just need to visit the woods. the beauty of woodlands gardens is simplicity and a natural look if you plan too much it would look too "designed". native plants, spring bulbs, green grass keep it simple
Go to the library and look in their gardening section to see what they have. If nothing, ask if they can get you a copy of Beth Chatto's Woodland Garden - https://www.amazon.com/Beth-Chattos-Woodland-Garden-Shade-Loving/dp/1844033724
I haven't read that book myself but she does write well and is a renowned plantswoman.
Same goes for Keith Wiley and plants so his book should be good too - https://www.amazon.com/Designing-Planting-Woodland-Garden-Combinations/dp/1604693851

I was going to say Beth Chattos woodland garden book, but obelixx has beaten me to it.
