Beautiful red flower ID

wakeshinewakeshine Posts: 967

I saw this beautiful red flower in a medicinal garden today...there were lots of labels in the ground, and I could not work out which labels went with which plants. Does anyone happen to know what it is?

It is the annual, Zinnia elegans 'Dreamland Scarlet'.

I just thought I'd update you, Ladybird (et al). There was a label at work when I went back to the garden:

They are Zinnia Benary's Coral, Purple and Wine (giant)

Also saw the gardener - he said they get them from benary's as plug plants and put in the greehouse before planting them out. Sooo pretty, they have dotted them around in beds and also in pots with other plants.
