Beech tree losing leaves early

Hi - I have what I think is a Beech tree in my back garden. It has always been late to get its leaves and early to drop them, however this year, the leaves are very sparse and started to turn brown and drop two weeks ago!
Just wondering if there is something wrong and if there's anything we can do to help!
