Companion plants for purple echinacea?

What plants is a good companion for purple echinacea you think?image

    That's quite a generous 'brief' iamto   image

    I'd look for plants that will harmonise in terms of colour, but will contrast in shape and size, and also foliage. Grasses work well with them. 

    Alternatively, you might want something to clash more - oranges and bright reds for instances. Big, jungly plants with large leaves like bananas, or lanceolate like Phormiums. 

    What other plants do you have nearby, what space do you have to fill, and what kind of planting style do you like? That's important - you have to like what you put in   image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

     I started the bed last year so it is not very many plants, but on one side i have lavender on the the other side i have a gap and then there is a small gooseberry plant. I was thinking about something blue would be nice with the purple and perhaps something not so tall? What about geraniums will they take completely over the space or are they good companions? Rozanne for example.

    And also the bed is about 70 cm wide and about 6 meters long.image

    It's all a matter of personal preference isn't it hollie? I don't like pastel colours for instance, but most people do, so it's important to know what people like in order to offer suggestions  image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
