Oh no! Just read your thread - bad times.

Suppose it's a risk with such a tall plant. I have a couple of canes per plant and ties every foot but the wind still gives some movement so maybe I need reinforcements! I only have 3 left out of 9 as it is (slugged).

best of luck with the others

I grew mine in a pot, was going to pot them out, but it never happened, they are not the giant ones, but have been flowering for several weeks.

Two out of the three I've got are blooming. But I need to get some poles to support them, because bamboo canes aren't up to the job any more.

Good plan Aster2 - was thinking the same. Just done an emergency extra cane this evening as the top foot was a bit mobile in the breeze. Looks like some sunny days next week so hope they will relish that!

That is beautiful JS - looks quite orange-y like little flames. Do I spot more heads on that plant?

  • Variety is Crimson Queen, it seems to be gradually turning more red, there are another 6 heads waiting to flower, which I wasn't entirely expecting, I always thought they were single flowers?

Some varieties do have multiple heads - usually the smaller height ones. You had good value there if it's your only survivor!
