Weeds

Hi everyone.

This may be a bit of a silly question to most of you but could somebody tell me if the below 2 photos are weeds?

  • I get the top one growing in my garden, i think it's the seed from a nearby tree, tho not sure what it is

  • Bottom one is possibly ragwort?

I have no idea what ragwort is, I'll have to look it up.

I'm tempted to dig them out but you never know, it could be something nice.

Ive just recently moved and we have some lovely plants and flowers in the new garden. It's all kind of a surprise when they grow.

the top one is a birch seedling.

The second looks like the regrowth from a tree that has been cut down, plum maybe?

There is no ragwort anywhere there

These are the 2 trees near by.

So do you think I should pull them out?

Yes seedlings or suckers from nearby trees. Pull or dig them out and keep an eye open for a recurrence in future years. If you get them put when they're smaller it'll be easier.
