Unknown Vegetable

ghost1605 says:

We planted several varieties of Peas this year. Had some old seeds which also got planted.

Now we have something that looks like a short pepper pea. It has no peas inside, solid inside. Planted about 10 weeks ago.

Can anyone figure out what variety of Peas or Beans this is.

Thank you...image

Did you sow any Radishes?  because they look to me as if they are radishes that have gone to seed.image

They do to me too. You can eat the pods while they are green though bit spicy.

Those are certainly the seed pods of a brassica Nora, not a pea or bean, as the others have commented I agree it looks like radish! :)

Yes, this is our first time planting Radishes. We have beans on another section.

Most of the garden is lettuce, tomatoes and peppers...

Thank you for solving our little problem.

  • It looks like Rat's Tail radish.  Sometimes used as a cover crop for pheasant shoots etc. .
