Plum Leaf Aphid

Glassprimitif says: How damaging are mealy plum aphids and is there any treatment for them? I noticed the wasps have been eating them (the aphids, not the plums) and I picked off the worst affected leaves - which seem to be at the end of each branch.
How much damage will they cause the plums themselves?
Many thanks

If you have a really bad infestation the tree won't grow very well, but generally the aphids are confined to a few shoots - and as you've found, predators (wasps and birds) will usually keep them under control. Like you, I pick off the worst affected leaves. I've never found the fruit itself to be affected.
