Rowan Tree

I am looking for help in solving what is happening my Rowan Tree, as you can see from the photo's attached something has happened to the bark, if anyone could help!!

    sometimes when rowans move in the wind the bark can split. Also growing spurts can cause it. Usually this causes no harm to the tree other than looking unsightly. However i an sure some other posters may know different causes.

    I discovered a large wound in mine full of woodlice at the beginning of last year.
