Magnolias Everywhere

Hi there

I just love Magnolias and got a Soulangeana a couple of years ago which I keep in a large container in acid soil and it grows quite nicely. BUT each year in spring something begins munching on the leaves and this year it didnt flower at all ! :( Because I am a sad plant addict when my local nursery closed down I couldnt resist the bargain of two more cut price Magnolias so I now have a Stellata and a Susan as well ! But the chomping has to stop...and I want flowers. When I have looked online I cant see any details of caterpillar pests or anything similar that affects them. Does anybody have any idea what else it could be? Thanks in advance :)

Slugs or snails would be my prime suspects.

Agree, slugs and snails love Magnolia foliage

Snails would love to nibble my magnolia. I usually make sure no branches are touching the soil, but must have missed one or two ... Removed 11 snails from quite high up yesterday. Quite a bit of foliage shredded ...
