HeftyHefty Posts: 370

heya :) I bought this reduced and was wondering whats the best way to deadheqd these to encourage some more flowers? As you can see 90% of the buds have finished so should I cut them  the next joint or at the base of the stem?image

Many thanks!!!!

Hi Hefty. Cut the faded flowers down to the base. Sounds a bit brutal but it will throw up more flowering stems. Give it a feed with some tomato fertiliser to boost it. I feed all my flowering plants with tomato feed at this time of year because I always have it in.

I have wee tiny 6" pinks in masses and I just go over them with shears. They'd probably do better if I did them individually but there's eleventy seven! image I might give them a feed to cheer them up.
