Fruit tree identification

Hello

Would anyone be able to tell me what type of tree I have in my garden.

It has very dark green, thick, large leaves and the fruit is very similar to apricots in size and colour and flavour. I am aware it is popular with greek families and possibly originates in Cyprus/ Mediterranean or Middle East.
