Just saw this in my garden abad was wondering if it's a frog or a toad? It was smaller than it looks as I zoomed in.

    Toads walk, frogs hop!

That is fantastic. I have a toad population and I always think that the baby toads - just after they move out of the pond - look like little mobile broad beans. I love them!

Young toad. Frogs don't have the obvious warts.

Great to have him in your garden Denno, isn't it? image

Funny how people will often like frogs, but not toads.  image  They're all lovely, and a real asset  image

Lol, I'm just pleased to see any little critters (so long as they're not eating my plants). I was just starting to have a tidy up and then I noticed him/her, I haven't got a pond but there are lots nooks and crannies in the garden (and piles of 'stuff' that I never got round to tidying up).

They do like to tuck themselves into dark little nooks and crannies  image

It just shows that you don't need a pond to get all kinds of wildlife coming in

I TELL YOU WHAT, THOSE AMPHIBIANS ARE BRIGHT LITTLE BEGGARS.

WE HAVE JUST SPENT THE LAST THREE WEEKS BUILDING A NEW POND. IN THE FIRST WEEK THE HOLE WAS DUG. IN THE SECOND WEEK THE UNDERLAY WAS CUT TO SIZE AND PUT IN THE HOLE. THEN THE BUTYLE LINER WAS PUT IN. THE WATER WENT IN TO STRETCH THE BUTYL LINER. THIS WEEK THE STONE SURROUND WENT DOWN LOOSELY. THEN IT WAS CEMENTED INTO PLACE. THEN THE PUMP WAS PUT IN.

TODAY THE STONES AND PEBBLES WERE PUT IN PLACE AND THE PLANTS WERE BROUGHT ON SITE IN BUCKETS.

AT THE VERY MOMENT THAT THE LAST PLANT WAS BEING PLACED ON ITS SHELF, A FROG HOPPED OUT FROM A FLOWER BED WHICH WAS A GOOD FOUR METRES AWAY, MADE AN OLYMPIC SPRINT ALONG THE PATH TOWARDS THE POND AND LEAPT INTO IT.
