I grew this from seed collected in a park in Madeira and have always assumed it is a Marigold. Is it?

It certainly looks like a marigold - a beautiful one at that.
I can't see which leaves go with the flower. Could it be coreopsis, or is defintely a marigold?
Pot marigold, Calendula officinalis. The petals can be used as a substitute for saffron.
