    Cool, moist, shady conditions Glenys.

    Think of Scotland re the climate they prefer....image

    What about the texture/consistancey type of soil it likes

    Not boggy Glenys, just reliably moist, with reasonable drainage. Good, rich, friable soil will suit most types.
