on looking through the daily mail today I came across an advert for a "Standard" Oleander which I was interested in.  Part of the way through reading I came on an "extra bonus offer"  of a pair of Tulipa 11" Diameter Square planters, can any one explain how a square pot can have a diameter. we were taught at school that a circle has a diameter and a square has four sides of equal length, it irks me to think that the person that compiled the advert is probably university educated and earning tens of thousands of pounds for this. Whatever has happened to our education system in the UK..image

There's a recent thread somewhere called So..... It's worth a look if you want a laugh. I'm an ecumenical moaner; I just moan on all the threads. The other day was about a BBC reporter who "was stood" and shortly thereafter "was sat". Today's moan was "boarders" on the Galley of Shame. image

I'm not really moaning....I'm just saying in a moany sort of way. image

Please do not get me started either. As a retired teacher I am a perennial moaner about the slipping in standards of grammar and spelling. My favourite moan is 'defiantly' and 'definately' instead of definitely. I can count on fingers and toes the numbers of greengrocers I have been into over the years to tell them there is no 'e' at the end of either potato or tomato. Oh noooooo I'm turning into Victoria Meldrew!

All the time pp. I don't think I'll ever get Sat Nav as I would just argue with that as well!

My husband used to go the wrong way just to see how annoyed the sat nav lady would get, there was no way to dissuade him........
