when and how to mow a newly seeded lawn

My lawn was more moss than grass, so I completely scarified and aerated before laying new seed. The new grass is coming up great with new shoots. How long should it get before the first mow and are there any more tips? Thanks in advance!! Lee

Lee you usually wait till the grass is about 3 inches tall then mow on a high setting. You need to keep it on a high setting for about a month if not longer to allow the new grass to form a decent tight root system. Unfortunately it's all weather dependent so I couldn't give you an idea as to when you can lower the cutting height.
