Oh dear Nanny Beach! I do hope you can both enjoy the gardens. I have a large garden. . . 2/3rds of which is a sunken garden with terraces on three sides. . . one side dry and sunny, one dry and shady, one damp and shady and the last one sunny. It's all permanent planting there to make life easier.
Nanny Beach I agree with you on things being advertised earlier and earlier. My son and I have a bit of a running joke about the Back to School stuff. This year I saw the first display of this in May! I think it's just the "early bird catches the worm" syndrome. Before we know it, the shops will be filling up with C*******s stuff!!!
You do sound a bit down though. I hope your children appreciate the child minding you do. Do they contribute with your costs? I suppose you wouldn't take anything because they are probably working hard to make ends meet too. There seems to be a lot of strain on families these days.
