What do you have in a cold frame currently ?

I have recently been given a cold frame which I had plants in for a few weeks, now I've moved everything out.

Do any of you have things in your cold frame at the moment, if so what are you growing on or using it for.  Does it stand empty until the cold weather returns.

Any advice gratefully recieved.  Its a whole new level of gardening having one of these.

Thank you.

I have chillies in mine. They are Hot Patio Sizzle, a small variety and won't grow very tall.  Always do well that way.   Also  2 tomato plants in pots with that section of lid removed.  And I have just sown foxgloves seeds into a tray which the packet suggests to start in a coldframe.  Good luck with your coldframe.  Mags

Patio Pot Mums in pots to keep them tidy and out of the way whilst the fuchsias and geraniums take centre stage on the patios.

    hi all

i currently have my cold frames in full production as i have planted many plants to plant following other veg being grown now

i have a number of trays of lettuce which wil be planted out once they are big enough in plugs which i use to fill the gaps.

beetroot also growing on and will be planted once ready in size also more spinach plants, caulis, white and purple sprouting brocoli, some leeks, winter cabbages, mint cuttings, and i have some patty pan plants in the green house to be moved out for space this week

i must admit my big coldframe is a new build this year and it has been a god send as they are great for holding plants in a cooler climate in readiness for planting out
