Dividing perennial geraniums

Lou12Lou12 Posts: 1,149

I need to fill a few gaps in my borders now I have dead headed the euphorbia.

Is it ok to divide perennial geraniums in June?

The geraniums we have have become rather large and could do with being divided.

To be honest, they are such willing plants that I feel you can do it whenever you like!  Ours are all in full flower - see if you can find an edge piece with few if any flowers, dig it out and plant it - what have you to lose bar your empty patches.  They'll get there anyway under their own steam given time …….

I did mine two weeks ago (it was hot with no rain) they were fine, I'd just put them in with some nice compost to improve the soil and make sure you keep them well watered.
