Cucumbers

I am growing cucumbers in my polytunnel.  They seemed to be doing well but I notice recently the flowers never really came to anything....is this something to be worried about?  Is there anything I can do?

Did the flowers have tiny cucumbers behind them, or just stalks?  If the latter those are male flowers and it may not have started producing female ones yet, which are the ones which develop into cucumbers.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

I'm wondering if I'm being premature & just need to bit patient! What do you think?

A bit tricky to see the lower ones but the one near the top, slightly to the right looks like a female and should develop into a fruit.

Yes, I think you need a bit more patience - the plant looks nice and healthy though. image

Yes the foliage is very healthy, I'm probably over reacting when all I need to do is sit tight!!

Thank you for the advice.....i'll keep you posted ?

Your plants look pretty good to me. I am assuming if you have a poly tunnel so have a good deal of experience. As has been said, bide your time and all will be revealed . I checked my Cues this morning and it was pretty warm in my lil green house, the leaves were drooping so all given a good drink and the door left open all day...  I am using Miracle gro to feed the cues and the Tomatoes and I have lots of flowers and 4 cues on one plant and 3 on another,,  I can't wait theres nothing better than the taste of home grown...image

Unfortunately I don't have much experience, just learning along the way, but thank you for the compliment.

I think you're right I need to be more patient.

I took on an allotment last August & have plenty of different things growin.  However when I look around at others & see how well their crops are doing I panic ?

You need to pick the brains of other allotment holders they know a few tricks and most will pass on a few tips iIf you ask them.

I hope you are growingmore than Cues in the poly tunnel..

My buddy has lots of things growing and Ihave my eye on some celery seedlings ..Never grown them before but I'd give it a go..  You are doing just fine..
