my Gladiator Alliums have finished flowering - after twisting the stems to remove from bulb - is it ok to put the bulbs in the boarder for next year ? Currently they are in a pot - thanks
The foliage should be left on till it dies back Tray. Like any other bulb, the foliage is what feeds the bulb for next year. You could give them a liquid feed just now to compensate if you've already taken the foliage off.
Anything in a pot can be planted out at any time of year, unless the ground is waterlogged or frozen - hopefully that's not the case just now!
Pick a sunny spot with nice sharp drainage for them.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
