Lupins

I have lost count of the number of red lupins I have bought over the years. They always revert to pink. Same thing again this year and I was especially careful. I have masses of pink now, plenty white and some rather smart purple but no red!
any ideas?

Mine has now turned deepest darkest red but it took it's sweet time about it. There must be something peculiar about red lupins. I've just taken a closer look and the half open spikes haven't fully developed their deep red. The bees are loving them.
According to the lupin lady on the website I looked at the plants don't revert but the seedlings do so I never let mine go to seed. Mine is a Gallery Red so you could maybe give it a try but who knows what next year will bring?
