Hi Whippet. I think that the plant is a mature ivy where the leaves look totally unlike the younger leaves and the flowers are about to open. I wish I could be 100% certain but that is my best guess. Someone will be along shortly to either confirm or come up with another thought. That is what is so much fun about the forum We learn something new every time we log in.

Hope you see this fidgetbones - do you think it could be a clematis e.g. flammula? But then the leaves don't look right. Whatever it is Whippet it looks lovely and another caller may have a better idea.

Its not ivy,the flowers are wrong , but I don't know what it is.

It's a cornus. Possibly sanguinea
