Christmas Roses - helleborus (white)

My mum (aged 85) has a really old plant in the garden which was her mothers! I am going to have to move it because of a new drive, and there is about 2ft of it, I am worried about killing it - any advice please?

Hi Spinny. Hellebores are best moved in the Spring but can be moved in Autumn. It is not recommended to move them in Summer. Dig as deeply as you can to get lots of roots and water in well in the new position. They can take a while to settle in as they have to develop their fine roots and may not flower for a season.
