Stipa Tenuissima?
Last year I planted this grass which was half the size with wispy leaves with light feathery seed heads later in the year. It was labelled as a Stipa Tenuissima, which it appeared to be. However this years growth is very different (See attached picture). The fresh leaves are about 3mm thick and have these large what look like seed heads about 5 cm from the tip. Are you able to advise what is happening here?
I would be most grateful

It is NOT S. tenuissima, but I am not sure what it is, a Carex perhaps.

Looks like your grass has died and been taken over by a rush.
Juncus effusis I think, a well known weed of well watered plants in pots. I think it's often from the compost. It turns up all over the place and is often put on here for ID

Thank you all for this. How weird, however I am no longer scratching my head.
Maybe it was very tiny in the pot with the Stipa.
