Living bamboo and climbers...

Hi All.

I need to create a living privacy screen and wondered if I either left or trimmed back the lower portion of my bamboo could I grow anything up it for added interest?

Thanks :)

Hi moslgo. I'm not quite understanding what you mean about cutting back the lower portion of your bamboo? If you want the screening then leave it. Some clematis might be too 'heavy' for your bamboo and pull it down. A climber like tropaeolum speciosum is lighter and has beautiful flowers but it can be a bit fussy.

What about annual nasturtiums? Mad colour and not too heavy or clingy.
