    Don't know. I did plant one but not there. Lived here 4 years and first time I've seen this.

    If it's in the hedge maybe it's been cut at the wrong time for flowering previously. That looks like a garden version, the native one has flatter flower heads

    it is right next to a sycamore that got cut down but not killed so it sprouts every year and I normally cut off the new branches.  Haven't done it this year... So I guess I've been cutting it down thinking it was part of the sycamore.
