Hedging to a disaster

imageimageimageimage

Good Morning,

Last year, following some advice I cut back on one side a hedge as it blocked half of our front entrance. It seemed at first to bounce back with small green shoots in places. Now that we are coming into the summer I am surprised to see a darkining of the leafs at the end of each branch. Is my hedge dieing, if so is there anything I can do at this stage to stop it? or is this common for this time of year, I note that similar hedges are darking across the road but not to the same extent? Please help..

Well its Yew so it should recover. I'd keep it well watered for a few weeks and see how it goes. It's probably objected to the haircut, but it's highly unlikely to die on you.

Hi Dave thanks for the reply, the haircut was done at the end of summer last year. I shall try watering as ground does seem a little dry despite living in west coast of Scotland. Would a plant food or compost help?
