Rose id

in Plants
Hi
I know it may be a tough question knowing there are thousands of roses in the world, but I'd really like to know the name of this rose in my neighbour's garden so that I could buy one for myself. The owner didn't plant it so has no idea. It's about 8 ft tall and has lovely smell. Any idea?

No idea but if you get on with them ask if you could take cuttings
Thanks Ice, I may do that.
If you send photos to Peter Beales Roses they might be able to identify it for you. They identified from photos loads of my roses which old owners planted. I was amazed at their skill in identifying.
what a beautiful colour - send a cutting this way too please
Good idea, wakeshine! I'll try that and post their answer.

MAYBE
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
Hi pansyface, thank you for the link. That IS a beautiful rose too, but I don't think that's what my neighbour's got. I've just emailed Peter Beales Roses but was unable to attach the photos. I'll see if they email me back.
Thank you Mike. I know there are literally thousands of variety and agree it will be extremely difficult to identify any rose by photos only.
Peter Beales won't be able to identify it for you if you dont attach the photos! I agree it's difficult, but not that difficult for Rosarians. I was really impressed - they have been spot on with mine. I compared my photos with the ones in their catalogue and online and they were 100% right with all the roses they identified for me.
Hi wakeshine, Peter Beales responded very quickly and I sent them some photos. So watch this space!
