Poisonous
in Fruit & veg
I've just had a disturbing thought! I've just starting using slow release fertilizers and mixing it in my compost, I use the compost for all my plants, bedding and fruit/veg.
It never even occurred to me that you can't.
Is it okay to use these fertilizers?

Its absolutely fine so don't worry. Your plants look lovely and healthy.
Hey Ladybird4,
Thanks for putting my mind at ease, I had an awful flash of ... oh no .. too late to restart!!
They are looking not too bad, thank you. I have been trying a different strategy with regards to my budget, I'm only a poor cleaner you know, I buy middle of the road compost. 210 litres for £9. It's not awful compost but not the best either. I then put the little fertilizer balls in and some vermiculite and I'm having good success.
The peas in the picture are in my homemade compost, ( Very Proud ) so nothing except some slow release balls have been added, they've really shot up.
It's been a strange year, weatherwise, in Scotland so far. I usually plant my seeds end of March, then we got some sun, then back to cold so nothing was happening with the little plants, until last week and since then, they've really shot up!
Keep shining Mrs Sunshine!
Thanks for your help.
