Winter/Spring flowering bulbs
in Plants
I am on with building a raised bed for Salvias, and would like to plant some bulbs with them to flower over winter and early spring, any suggestions?? Snowdrops and crocuses have not proved to be robust enough to deal with the daily rigours of a garden owned by 5 cats!! And also, would I plant the bulbs now when the Salvia go in, or later in the year (not sure if they mind root disturbance or not?) Thank you for any help and suggestions

Hi Jason. This is not the time for planting bulbs - that comes later in the year. The native daffodils are very nice and various scillas. I don't think you need to worry too much about the salvias but you could always sink small empty plant pots where you eventually aim to put the bulbs and this would prevent the roots getting damaged.
Ok thanx Ladybird
