Beautiful 'weed' - but what is it?!

Weed, in the sense that I didn't plant it there! I think we've inherited it from previous owners. 

I think its gorgeous, and seems to have trefoil-y type leaves, just haven't a clue what it is :s

    Not a weed.  I reckon it's aquilegia.   Self seeds when happy but any excess is easily pulled up or transplanted to where you want it.

    Aquilega. It's a prolific self seeder so you may find yourself with more popping up around the garden. image
