Azaea Viscosum

Anyone growing this Azalea? I have 10 different Rhodos and Azaleas. Came across this one, the "basic" white/very pale pink job, also aparently called the Swamp Azalea, but the RHS site says plant in full sun light well drained soil, all the other sites say shade, boggy conditions, happy to be under water.  Before I fork out quite a lot of money, wondered if anyone else has one.  The site I had in mind is shady, gets a little sun in summer, very wet in winter (clay) have a Rogersia there and Snakes head Fritteraries, doing well.

Much and all as the RHS is all knowing, all seeing, I'm thinking that the name "swamp azalea" might override that. I'd go damp and boggy but only on instinct, not on any wider knowledge.

Check out the plant's native habitat, not those who write on web and in books. Mis-information gets copied on.

    and agree with pp.

No idea re the specific plant, alkaline soil hereimage
