    Aym:   Whatever are you suggesting?

I am a Monty fan; but am I the only one wanting to drag the man to a suit fitters and get him out of those ridiculous clown clothes he's sporting? He looks like he's been found in the church yard and given second choice on the good will box.

I thought he may have borrowed it from his dad's wardrobe. image

I'm egging Hazel on to make a "So...... Chelsea" thread for us all to have a good moan about terrible stuff that annoys us. image

    Well there's a slight snag. I could shout 1,2,3....GO but I don't have a telly! image

Got the idea when I saw Hazel have a grumble on "Forkers" pp.

Can't pinch her "So......."  heading can I?

Personally I could love to see see a monthly " So...... " thread started for a new topic on the first of the month. It always goes off on a tangent anyway. image

Edit: all the chit chat that appeared whilst I was replying to pp just shows the need for a "So.... Chelsea" thread.image

Right you lot, time to change channel to "So..... Chelsea! "

  • "Re qualifications: when I went back to college to study garden design, a client of mine said " I bought a house with an empty garden, so I'm a designer"

I replied " I've sown bits of fabric together : that doesn't make me Coco Chanel"

    " fair point" he said."

If he "designs" his own garden, then, naturally, he's "a designer", Hosta.

Most of us, I should imagine, are the "designers" of our own green spaces, even though our professions are not remotely related to gardening; so, I think, your "point" wasn't that "fair" perhaps.  That is because the analogy isn't very analogous.  As he didn't say, "so I'm Capability Brown" (or any other famous "designer" for that matter), your retort perhaps needed to be, "that doesn't make me a seamstress."

By the way, I do believe Chanel wasn't trained in couture, just passionate about it, but I may be wrong.

    Sorry to be... pedantic!

Pedantry is so a lovely word, and, so much better than the one that sounds very similar.

I may be wrong, but I think many of the great IMO garden designers are untrained.
